About the American Explorer Program
ELS's American Explorer Program will enhance your American travel experience with morning English classes designed to help you learn English while on vacation. Enjoy English lessons focused on improving your oral communication, vocabulary, and structure, and build confidence in your listening and speaking abilities.
With your afternoons free, you'll be able to create your own unique English language and cultural immersion experience in the USA—practice your English language skills with Americans as you explore the local sights and attractions in your study city.

You want to study English while on vacation at a quality English language school with over 60 years of experience teaching English at amazing destinations in the USA.
You want to enjoy free time outside of class to explore the United States and practice your English skills with locals.
You want the experience of learning English conversation on a US university or college campus
You only have time for a short-term English learning holiday in the USA (this program is available for 12 weeks maximum)

This program is not eligible for a student (F-1) visa
Visa Information
*Programs run in 4-week sessions and students can start on any Monday year-round (Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday). For the best experience we encourage students to start at the beginning of a session and not to start on week four of the session.
American Explorer Program Sample Schedule
Students enjoy three 50-minute lessons each morning, Monday to Friday, for a total of 15 lessons per week. Schedule is a sample only and may vary depending on your level and location.

What You Can Achieve in the American Explorer Program
The American Explorer Program is designed to improve your conversational English skills so that you can have an amazing cultural and English language immersion vacation experience in the USA. To help you achieve this, your classes will focus on oral communication, vocabulary, and structure.
In your free time, you can put your learning into practice by joining ELS activities or exploring local sights and attractions on your own or with new international friends. We encourage you to interact and engage with the people you meet along the way. Whether it is in restaurants, shops, sightseeing or just walking around, try to practice English with native speakers in real situations. This will help you learn English quickly and gain confidence when speaking to others.
Your language progression will depend on your personal commitment and the length of time you study. Each ELS level is 4 weeks. All students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of their studies.
